The Third Hong Kong Mineral Fair Meet the Mineral Collectors FREE ADMISSION Date : 25 July 2009 Time : 10am - 7pm Venue : BGCA Auditorium, 3 Lockhart Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong. conveniently close to the Wanchai MTR station, exit C.. The Fair gathers together buyers, sellers and enthusiasts from the world of minerals and fossils, featuring mineral specimens, books, equipment, fossils and rough and polished stones. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to meet the mineral collecting community of Hong Kong and to share your interests with them. For some it is the wonderful symmetry of naturally occurring crystals, their colour and beauty, for some it is contemplating how minerals form, such as the extreme conditions of huge values of temperature and pressure existing where diamonds are born, deep in the mantle of the earth. Fossil collectors are intrigued by the strange creatures which existed in geological time, leaving their imprints in the rocks for us to marvel at. The stories which these fossils tell of how our earth developed and how different it was aeons ago make strange reading indeed. Start with picking up a few attractive looking stones, and you will soon be drawn into the fascinating world of the collector,	MTR From Wan Chai station take exit C and walk west along Lockhart Road. The venue is on the right almost at the end of the road. From Admiralty Station take exit D. Walk across Harcourt Garden to Hennessy Road, turn left down Arsenal Street then right onto Lockhart Road. The venue is on your left. Tram Get off the tram at the junction of Hennessy Road and Johnston Road, walk north down Arsenal Street then turn right onto Lockhart Road. The venue is on your left. Bus Bus numbers 2, 104, 720A and M722 travel east along Hennessy Road then turn north on Fenwick Street and west along Lockhart Road, past the venue.
